Notification of Entry Level Attorney Vacancies:

 

The U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR) is currently soliciting resumes to fill various entry-level Attorney vacancies.

 

OCR accepts resumes from eligible individuals who may be considered for a noncompetitive appointment to an Attorney position via the following excepted hiring authorities: 1) Schedule A Persons with Disabilities appointments (5 C.F.R. § 213.3102(u)); 2) Veterans’ Recruitment Appointments; 3) Excepted Hiring Authority for Attorneys (5 C.F.R. § 213.3102(d)); and 4) Former Peace Corps and AmeriCorps Appointees (22 U.S.C. § 2506), respectively.

 

OCR’s current entry-level attorney openings are for General Attorney, GS-0905-11 (Full Promotion Potential GS-905-13) Remote-Eligible positions within the regional enforcement offices. OCR’s regional enforcement offices that are currently seeking to fill entry-level General Attorney vacancies are located in Boston, MA; New York, NY; Washington, DC; Atlanta, GA; Dallas, TX; Kansas City, MO; Denver, CO, San Francisco, CA, Seattle, WA. The General Attorneys make civil rights compliance determinations and ensure that complaints and proactive enforcement activities are processed in accordance with regulations, policies, and case law and conform to established case-processing procedures.
