The international law firm Bryan Cave LLP today announced that its Chicago Office will serve as the headquarters for the Chicago Committee on Minorities in Large Law Firms and its administrative staff, led by Executive Director Jennifer Reddien.
The organization, also known as the Chicago Committee, seeks racial and ethnic diversity in the legal profession by collaborating with its law firm and corporate membership to drive sustainable institutional change at law firms and corporate legal departments; provide professional development; and cultivate the community of minority lawyers through programming and leadership opportunities. The Chicago Committee sponsors numerous programs and activities for its member firms, and has hosted several events at Bryan Cave’s Chicago office. The Chicago Committee has 43 member law firms, representing most of the largest law firms in the City of Chicago. Bryan Cave has been a member firm of the organization for more than 10 years.
“We are honored to have the Chicago Committee join us in our office,” said Chicago Office Managing Partner Joseph McCoy, who also serves on the Chicago Committee’s Board. “As someone who has been involved with the organization for many years and committed to its mission, I’m thrilled to have Jennifer and her staff down the hall and look forward to continuing to support the organization.”
“I am excited about our move to Bryan Cave’s Chicago office and to be working alongside Joseph McCoy, Jason DeJonker and Merili Seale – all Bryan Cave lawyers who are very active with the Chicago Committee’s governing board and its associate board,” Reddien said. “We are very grateful for all the firms that have hosted us over the years and continue to support our growth and activities. We are looking forward to collaborating with Bryan Cave and other firms over the next year to ensure our membership and programming continue to expand in 2017.”
Currently, Office Managing Partner Joseph McCoy and Jason DeJonker each sit on the governing board, and DeJonker serves as a member of the executive committee. In addition, Merili Seale currently serves as the chair of the associate board.
